villages, taking in views of
the Pu Pu Beetle and Nam
Khau valley.
After a lunch in Khuong
Trung, settle in for an
authentic overnight stay at

Nam Hong.

Day 3

Set off on a scenic trek to
the beautiful Phin Ho
Village.

By noon, you will arrive at
Tan Sa Phin heaven gate
and pause for lunch.
Once crossing the mountain
and after an enriching day,
relax in the village of Phin
Ho and learn about the
secret of San Tuyet tea.

Day 4

Enjoy a leisurely morning
heading down the mountain
and wander through a
number of shan tea forests.
Along the way, pause for a
delicious lunch at Nam Nghi
before continuing on to

Your departure to travel to

Your adventure begins at 08:00 when your guide picks you up from your chosen pick-up location, marking the start of your journey into Vietnam’s stunning northern highlands. As you leave behind the busy streets, the landscape begins to change—urban views transform into lush hills and expansive valleys.

Along the way, you’ll stop in Tuyen Quang in the Ham Yen district for a local-style lunch before continuing the scenic drive towards Hoang Su Phi. As the mountains grow larger and the roads wind through terraced rice fields, you’ll catch your first glimpses of the region’s raw beauty.

Arriving in Thong Nguyen by late afternoon, you’ll head to the Nam Hong village to check in at the peaceful homestay nestled in nature. Enjoy some free time to relax, explore the area, indulge in the local cuisine and prepare for the adventure ahead.

Day 2

Thong Nguyen > Khuong Trung > Nami Ai Heaven Gate > Nam Son Village

After breakfast at the homestay, set off on a memorable 5–6-hour trek through stunning landscapes of rice terraces, bamboo groves, and soaring mountain peaks. As you traverse the Pu Pu Beetle slope and ascend the mountainside, soak in panoramic views of Nam Khau Valley below.

Pause at Khuong Trung for lunch amid scenic surroundings, then continue through the breathtaking Nam Ai Heaven Gate, an iconic spot with unforgettable vistas.

Your trek ends at Nam Son Village, where you’ll settle in for the night, connecting with the Tay people to experience their culture, daily life, and traditions firsthand.

With Cozy Hostel, you will be able to safely store your luggage or whatever items you do not need to take with you at our hostel in Ha Giang town. This is where we will both begin and complete the loop. With this in mind, it is recommended and important to pack light.

– Waterproof jacket or raincoat for the colder areas or wet periods
